Awarded "Most Likely to Succeed in Physical Science," Mark Rylander instead chose architecture and never looked back. As he worked for high-end corporate design firms over two decades, his exceptional manual drafting skills yielded to a series of evolving CAD/BIM platforms. Now a solo practitioner with three active partnerships, he faces the daily challenges of digital graphic communication and coordination in the new freelance economy. Mark received a BS in Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Master of Architecture from Yale University. He is a past Chair of the AIA Committee on the Environment and author of the Sustainable Design Chapter of Architectural Graphic Standards. He lives in Charlottesville, Virginia and works in cyberspace.
