Lauren Work;

A Rochester, New York native, Lauren earned her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington. Lauren’s interest in digital preservation evolved from her work and research as a graduate student, where she led projects ranging from digitizing oral histories to creating an archival program for a Seattle record label. Her interest in digital preservation and access to cultural materials led to positions at Densho in Seattle and National Public Radio.

Lauren applied for the NDSR program because she sees it as a great opportunity to use her digital skills to contribute to solving an institutional problem and to gain additional knowledge from organizations involved in various types of digital preservation projects. As a resident at PBS she has been working on developing selection criteria & creating workflows for an analog digitization initiative. She is also working to update digital policy at PBS and to identify access points for use of digitized PBS media.
