May 13, 2010 -- State Chief Information Officers play a critical role in managing the digital assets of state governments. The National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program has worked closely with state CIOs, and the National Association of State Chief Information Officers is a partner in the Library’s Preserving State Government Information Initiative.

NDIIPP staff member Michelle Gallinger provided a status briefing at the 2010 NASCIO Mid-Year Conference, (external link) on April 30 in Baltimore, Md. She met with two groups and discussed the impact of the four NDIIPP projects that are now working directly with 35 states. Participants discussed the impact of NDIIPP in their states and exchanged ideas for how to strengthen partnerships with the Library.
