September 2006

A report of the July 18 meeting of the National Digital Strategy Advisory Board is now available. The NDSAB meeting gave board members the chance to discuss current digital preservation initiatives and options for the future.

On July 19-20, the fourth meeting of the original digital preservation partners was held in Washington. These are the eight consortia comprising 36 institutions that received NDIIPP funding in September 2004. The NDIIPP initiative is at the halfway point, and attendees discussed their plans through 2010, when the Library will make its final report to Congress.

The deadline is fast approaching for expressions of interest in NDIIPP's Preserving Creative America initiative. NDIIPP is seeking expressions of interest for collaborative projects that model innovative solutions for the preservation of commercial digital content. The final date for submissions is Sept. 22, 2006. Complete details are on this Web site.
