Lead Partner: Los Alamos National Laboratory, Research Library
Additional Partner: American Physical Society

In 2004, the Library funded LANL to conduct research and development of tools to help address complex problems related to collecting, storing and accessing digital materials. The project combined a number of recent standards to develop a framework to optimize transfer of electronic journal content.

Objectives

  • Explore methods to standardize content transfer networks
  • Explore the use of the OAI-PMH in content transfers
  • Explore how to represent transferred assets in XML, specifically using the MPEG-21 DIDL XML syntax
