October 15, 2009 -- The National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program sponsored a web conference about recent developments with the DuraCloud project.
Several dozen NDIIPP partners and others participated in the conference, held on September 30, 2009. Michele Kimpton and Bill Branan from DuraSpace (external link) presented details about project objectives, which include replication, management and audit of up to 40 terabytes of cultural heritage content stored with multiple cloud storage vendors. Kimpton also said that the project is researching a pricing strategy with the intent to launch an operational service by 2010.
Presentation slides and an audio recording of the conference are available on the DuraSpace web site (external link).
