This project collected and preserved information identifying the geographic location and characteristics of natural or man-made features in the state of North Carolina. Project staff also worked with state and county agencies to encourage good data creation practices that have improved preservation and access requirements. Geospatial data is critical for environmental health, homeland security, land management, and other purposes.
